Announcing a Terra Cultura Benefit Concert!
Featuring The Gold Souls, SLUGish Ensemble and Hannah Mayree
We are thrilled to announce an upcoming concert in Oakland, CA to benefit Terra Cultura’s ‘Plant The Seed’ fundraising campaign.
Terra Cultura is an agriculture and arts education center whose mission is to cultivate resilient communities empowered through education and collaboration in agroecology, sustainable living, and the arts. Terra Cultura is in its initial stage of programming and is looking to you, the community, to help build a solid foundation for its future growth. Bring your family and friends, come out to support Terra Cultura, and hear some amazingly talented, super fun local bands.
The show will take place on Thursday, October 5th, at the Uptown Nightclub in Oakland, CA. The talent includes the sultry, soulful, blues sounds of The Gold Souls, the jazz inspired SLUGish Ensemble, and the traveling folk stylings of Hannah Mayree. Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $25, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Feel free to give more! Support Terra Cultura’s fundraising campaign to bring hands-on agroecology and arts education to the community.
It takes a unified community to protect our environment, and to reclaim connections to our land, food systems and social and cultural support systems. Terra Cultura seeks to cultivate strong communities, and spur social and environmental change, through education and collaboration. Terra Cultura takes an integrative approach to nourishing healthy communities, looking at everything from the food we eat and the buildings we inhabit, to our balance with the environment, and the quality of our social and cultural engagement.
Terra Cultura’s 2017 Fundraising Campaign has begun!
Terra Cultura’s “Plant the Seed” fundraising campaign kicked off on June 1st, with a wonderful evening event featuring entertainment by Erin Bower and friends (San Diego, CA) and The Gold Souls (Sacramento, CA), refreshments from Koi Zen Cellars, Trader Joe’s, Jimbo’s Naturally and Lagunitas Brewing Co., and a lively discussion with special guests about the intersections of agriculture, art and community. Over 100 community members joined us for an inspirational evening introducing Terra Cultura, in support of its mission to cultivate resilient communities empowered through education and collaboration in agroecology, sustainable living and the arts.
So far, Terra Cultura has raised $181,000 of its $400,000 fundraising goal for 2017.
Terra Cultura’s Plant The Seed effort is a capital campaign to put Terra Cultura on the land, and build out the facilities we need to begin our community-focused arts and agroecological educational programs. With these resources, we will be able to:
We’re off to a great start, but we need your help. Donate today, and help the Terra Cultura community Plant the Seed for a resilient, holistic and sustainable tomorrow!
